Overview

Located in the heart of Trastevere at Via di Santa Dorotea, Come 'na Vorta Pasta e Vino - Santa Dorotea is a quintessential Roman dining destination that marries tradition with warm hospitality. This restaurant invites guests into a cozy, welcoming space where authentic Italian flavors come alive, guided by recipes that honor the rich culinary heritage of Rome.

The menu stands out for its dedication to classic pasta dishes, with a particular highlight on Spaghettoni Carciofi and Spaghettoni All'amatriciana. These dishes showcase expertly balanced textures and robust sauces, crafted with fresh, local ingredients that reflect the seasonality and depth of Italian cuisine. The Carciofi In Tre Modi offers a creative nod to artichokes, presenting them in three distinct ways that delight the palate and add a sophisticated twist to traditional flavors.

Beyond the plate, the experience here is enriched by engaging culinary moments, as echoed by guest Adamari Stephanie Indigoyen, who praised the hands-on lesson in pasta and tiramisu making led by Mimi—a unique offering that deepens the connection to Italian food culture. This personalized attention enhances the ambiance, making it ideal not only for food lovers but also for those eager to immerse themselves in Italy’s gastronomic traditions.

For travelers and locals alike, this restaurant provides refuge after a day of exploring Rome. Nikola Noršić’s words capture the comfort and soul-soothing qualities of their carbonara, complemented by attentive service that transforms a meal into a memorable moment. The spacious interior and inviting outdoor seating successfully accommodate both intimate dinners and lively gatherings, appealing to a diverse audience seeking authentic, hearty Italian fare without pretense.

Celebrations come alive here as well; Sophie Crook’s birthday experience highlights the staff’s thoughtful touches—turning a simple dinner into a heartfelt celebration with delightful presentations and friendly Italian flair. Such gestures elevate the atmosphere beyond just food, fostering a sense of community and belonging.

Other favorites include the rich, velvety gnocchi cacio e pepe and the robust fettuccine bolognese, praised for their comforting flavors and satisfying portions. The rosemary focaccia, especially when paired with the cacio e pepe sauce, adds another layer of indulgence to the meal. Service throughout is warm, approachable, and attentive, ensuring every guest feels welcomed and valued.

In summary, Come 'na Vorta Pasta e Vino - Santa Dorotea is a culinary gem in Rome—a place where tradition is savored in every bite, the atmosphere feels like home, and genuine Italian hospitality shines. A carbonara that heals your soul. A great carbonara and a portion that all weary Rome travelers will appreciate. After a long day of walking the city, this carbonara fed my stomach, awakened my senses and rested my soul. Mirko, our waiter, was great in making us feel comfortable and appreciated. Great tiramisu as well. I would definitely return to this lovely restaurant.

Had a great dinner here! It’s affordable and delicious! A lot of seating inside and some outside as well. All the servers were very nice and easy to communicate with. We had gnocchi cacio e pepe and fettuccine bolognese. The bolognese was good, but the cacio e pepe sauce with the gnocchi was SO DELICIOUS! It was very filling and every bite tasted so good. We also had the Rosemary focaccia bread which tasted even better when we dipped it in the cacio e pepe sauce! I highly recommend this place if you’re in Rome!

We had a wonderful dinner here! The food came quite quickly and everything was delicious. The pizza with eggplant was truly outstanding, and the pasta dishes were just perfect. The waiter was very kind and attentive, and the wine was fresh, cool and full of flavor. Since it was quite late for dinner, the restaurant was not crowded, which made the atmosphere even more enjoyable. A real Italian experience – simple, tasty, and full of heart!
